The Interview Pipeline
Rehearse system design, architectural deep-dives, behavioural answers and salary conversations using your own experience.
Who this example is for
Engineers and IT professionals preparing for English-language interviews with international or remote-first teams.
Example starting level: B1–C1
Adapted after your assessment
Coaching is available at CEFR A2–C1. This is an illustrative plan, not a placement requirement or a promise of a level increase. We adjust the language, tasks and pace to your starting point and priorities.
What you will practise
- Introduce your experience with relevant examples.
- Explain your reasoning during a system design discussion.
- Structure behavioural answers with the STAR method.
- Ask informed questions and discuss an offer professionally.
Each session combines a workplace task, focused language practice, rehearsal and feedback. Short between-session tasks help you revisit the language. Use fictional or anonymised material, never confidential company information.
Your example 12-week plan
01–12- Week 01
Role and interview needs
Choose a target role and give a short professional introduction. Identify the interview stages you need to practise.
- Week 02
Your experience
Explain two projects and your contribution. Practise describing impact accurately without exaggerating.
- Week 03
Clarifying the question
Ask about requirements, constraints and unfamiliar terms. Practise buying thinking time and checking assumptions.
- Week 04
First mock interview
Rehearse an introduction and project discussion. Review the recording for structure, clarity and relevant detail.
- Week 05
System design rounds
Talk through a design from requirements to components. Make your reasoning and assumptions audible.
- Week 06
Architectural deep-dives
Explain a trade-off from your own work, including alternatives and limitations. Respond to probing follow-up questions.
- Week 07
STAR: situation and task
Choose genuine examples of collaboration, conflict or an incident. Set the context and your responsibility concisely.
- Week 08
STAR: action and result
Complete your answers with specific actions and honest results. Distinguish your contribution from the team’s work.
- Week 09
Difficult questions
Practise discussing a mistake, an unfamiliar topic or a gap in experience without inventing an answer.
- Week 10
Salary and offer conversations
Rehearse asking about an offer, explaining expectations and negotiating politely. Focus on language, not salary or legal advice.
- Week 11
Full interview rehearsal
Combine behavioural and technical questions in a mock interview. Refine your answers using targeted feedback.
- Week 12
Final mock and review
Complete a second mock interview, ask your own questions and compare it with your first recording. Agree what to practise next.
How we review progress
Two mock interview recordings, a set of genuine STAR examples and an offer-conversation rehearsal, reviewed for relevance, structure and clarification. No job offer is guaranteed.
We compare starting samples, mid-point work and final tasks against goals agreed in your assessment. The focus is clearer communication with international colleagues, not accent imitation or a guaranteed CEFR change.
Start with your own priorities.
Book a free, approximately 30-minute spoken assessment about your work. No test or preparation; camera optional. Coaching is £60 per session and you choose how many sessions you need — 12 is only an example. There is no obligation to continue. See pricing and payment details.
